Forged Hotbar: Action Bars and Tooltips for Godot 4

Forged Hotbar adds action bars and tooltips to a Godot 4 game. You can try it in the browser demo above.

The bar handles keys, clicks, cooldowns and drag and drop. Your game decides what each action does:

Features:

• Action bars with 1 to 24 slots, at any size, and as many bars as you need.
• Cooldowns shown as a clockwise sweep with the seconds left, and an optional global cooldown.
• Slot states for active actions, not enough mana, out of range, locked ("Lv 10") and stack counts.
• Keybinds from the Input Map. When the player rebinds a key, the slot label changes with it.
• Drag and drop to rearrange, to clear a slot, to move actions between bars, or to drag them in from your own spellbook.
• Layouts saved between runs.
• Tooltips for any Control, with titles, two-column stat lines, BBCode, warnings, values that update while open, and three placement options.
• Two skins, Forged Iron and Moonsilver, switched with one line of code. Both are SVG art with a matching Theme for the rest of your UI. Three fonts and 20 icons are included.
• Actions are Resources, so you can set up a bar in the inspector.
• Commented GDScript source, a test script, and support for web exports.

The download contains the plugin (addons/forged_hotbar/ and the shared addons/forged_ui/ folder, which you copy into your project), the demo scene with two bars, a spellbook, mana, potions and a combat log, the documentation and the tests.

Works alongside Forged Unit Frames: both use the same skins and tooltips.

Requires Godot 4.4 or newer. Works with the Forward+, Mobile and Compatibility renderers, including web exports.

Licence: you can use it in any number of personal or commercial games. You can't resell it as an asset. The icons are CC BY 3.0 (credit details are included) and the fonts are SIL OFL.
